A boy in China caused damage to multiple luxury cars and the road after he threw a firecracker into a manhole, resulting in an explosion.

According to Hong Kong media Sing Tao and mainland Chinese media, the incident occurred on the second day of Chinese New Year, Jan. 30, in the city of Neijiang in Sichuan province.

The explosion was reportedly caused by methane in the sewer.

No casualties were reported.

The damaged cars included Lincolns, Audis and Porsches, among others, Lianhe Zaobao reported.

At least one car flipped over, mud strewn all over the ground

Footage of the incident online showed the boy approaching the manhole cover in the car park area, which appeared to be between two cars.

According to mainland Chinese media, the car that was flipped over by the explosion was a Lexus ES.

Lianhe Zaobao reported that the boy was eventually taken away by the police.

Several mainland Chinese online commenters speculated that the boy's parents might have to pay a lot of money for the damages incurred, thereby ruining the family's mood for Chinese New Year.
