Certis officer, 27, sent to hospital after accident with motorcyclist at Tuas Checkpoint

Both the officer and rider sustained minor injuries.

A Certis auxiliary police officer on duty at Tuas Checkpoint was attending to an incident on Jan. 16 when she was hit by a motorcycle.

Both the officer, 27, and the rider, 34, sustained minor injuries and were sent to hospital.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to the accident at Tuas Checkpoint about 9:10am.

The accident

Footage of the aftermath was posted on Facebook the same day.

The Certis officer was seen lying on the road in the middle of a lane leading to Tuas Checkpoint, with an arm covering her face.

A few metres in front of her, a motorcycle had fallen on the road.

Two men were helping a rider in a red helmet to get up.

Two other security personnel were also seen running over from Tuas Checkpoint.

SCDF said that two persons were conveyed to National University Hospital.

The police said that investigations are ongoing.

Officer is currently on medical leave: Certis

In response to Mothership's enquiries, a Certis spokesperson confirmed that on Jan. 16, a Certis auxiliary police officer was involved in a road traffic accident with a motorcycle while attending to an unrelated incident at Tuas Checkpoint.

Both the officer and the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson noted that emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and conveyed them to the hospital for further treatment.

"The officer has been since discharged and is currently on medical leave. We are rendering support where necessary to our officer to aid her speedy recovery," said the spokesperson.
