A Singapore car was caught on video cutting queue at the Second Link on Malaysia's side on Dec. 24.

The Singapore-registered Toyota Raize was seen travelling along the heavy vehicles lane on the far left before filtering right over the double white line to cut into the car lane that had vehicles queuing up bumper to bumper.

The act of cutting into the car lane and braking suddenly caused two other queue-cutting cars behind to slow down and stop.

A lorry ploughed into the two queue-cutting cars as a result.

Smoke was seen emanating from the lorry following the collision.

It is unclear if the Toyota Raize was hit, but it was seen proceeding forward.

The car beside it did not appear to want to give way.

The lorry driver was then seen gesticulating at the motorists behind him.

It is unclear if the two boxy-looking cars involved in the chain collision are Singapore or Malaysia-registered vehicles.

Responses

Commenters on the video blamed the queue-cutting Toyota Raize for being responsible for the chain collision.

They also pointed out it was not affected even though it caused the collision.

However, they also criticised the other two queue-cutting cars that got hit as they were taking advantage of the heavy vehicles lane as well.

The commenters empathised with the lorry driver, as the vehicle being driven is larger and carries more momentum, making it more difficult to brake sharply over a short distance.

Moreover, it was travelling in the lane as it should, but could have maintained a wider safe distance from the cars in front of it.
