A passenger was seen climbing out of a white Nissan that had flipped and landed on the road sideways after an accident in Chinatown on Dec. 23.
The van had apparently collided with a taxi.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to the accident along Upper Cross Street at around 10:30am.
The aftermath
Footage of the aftermath of the crash was shared on social media the same day.
The white Nissan could be seen lying sideways on the second lane of the road, with the yellow taxi seemingly having veered left and mounted a kerb.
Debris from the crash was seen on the ground.
A man in a white cap was seen sitting on top of the van, helping another man climb out through the passenger-side door.
In a clip taken from a different angle, police were seen marshalling traffic at the accident scene.
The two left-most lanes were also cordoned off with traffic cones.
SCDF said one person was assessed for minor injuries but declined to be sent to the hospital.
In response to Mothership's queries, a ComfortDelGro spokesperson said no passengers were on board at the time of the accident.
The spokesperson added that the taxi driver was not injured.
"We are working to identify the cause of the accident and are ensuring that we provide our cabby with assistance if needed."
