Businessman Lum Kok Seng will not be charged over Iswaran case: AGC
Iswaran had obtained thousands of dollars worth of items from Lum between November 2021 and November 2022.
The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) said on Oct. 4 that no charges will be brought against businessman Lum Kok Seng by the prosecution.
The AGC previously said it would "take a decision in respect of the investigations" against Lum once S Iswaran's case had completed.
Lum, the managing director of Singapore Exchange-listed Lum Chang Holdings, was named alongside fellow businessman and billionaire hotelier Ong Beng Seng in Iswaran's charges.
Lum Chang Holdings has subsidiaries in construction, property development and investments.
The former transport minister had obtained items from Lum between November 2021 and November 2022, as stated in his charges.
They include:
- Four bottles of Gordon & MacPhail Caol Ila whisky: S$1,084.46
- 14 bottles of whisky and wine: S$3,255.75
- A TaylorMade golf driver: S$749
- Two bottles of Gordon & MacPhail Caol Ila whisky:S$542.23
- A set of Honma Beres BE-08 Black AQ MX golf clubs:S$4,420
- A Brompton T Line bicycle: S$7,907.50
- Two bottles of M&H Elements Sherry Cask whisky: S$198
- A Scotty Cameron Phantom golf putter and two golf chippers: About S$800
Iswaran, as the then-transport minister, had obtained these for no consideration from Lum, whom he knew to have been related to a contract for works on Tanah Merah MRT station.
