A woman, who was involved in the multi-vehicle crash along Tampines Avenue 12 on Oct. 29 that killed a couple, is seeking psychiatric treatment following the incident.
Tampines Member of Parliament (MP) Baey Yam Keng wrote in a Facebook post on Nov. 3 that the 25-year-old woman, Mira, did not sustain any serious physical injuries.
However, she is seeking psychiatric treatment to cope with the trauma she experienced, Baey said.
Impact of crash
Baey shared that he had visited Mira alongside grassroots leaders.
The car she was driving belonged to her father, he shared.
It was badly damaged in the accident and had to be scrapped.
"This is affecting her father’s work as he needs the car to drive to Jurong Island," Baey said.
He added that they had discussed the assistance her family needed, including legal advice and help with insurance claims.
"Hopefully our referrals would accord them the necessary assistance soon," he wrote.
Baey also said he had requested meetings with the relevant agencies to discuss whether measures could be implemented along Tampines Avenue 12 to prevent similar accidents from happening.
"I wish Mira a smooth and speedy recovery. My thoughts are also with the family of the couple who tragically lost their lives in the accident," he wrote.
