AirAsia's co-founder, Tony Fernandes, has documented his experience as a passenger on other commercial flights on several occasions.
In an Oct. 1 Instagram post, Fernandes said that he flew on SIA because he couldn't get a seat on AirAsia.
Accompanied by a set of photos, he said the service was great and the internet "amazing", but the food was "poor".

"Santan is far, far better and [the] crew admitted. Great flight but we['re] not far off," he said.
Santan is the Malaysian low-cost airline's official in-flight dining brand, which offers ASEAN-inspired cuisine, including nasi lemak and chicken rice.
Comments
Fernandes's caption was met with a myriad of reactions, with some comparing the two airlines.
While some agreed with his opinion on Santan's food, with one saying "nothing compares to Santan food", others pointed out that there might be more pressing issues for travellers.
With one saying "but they leave on time", another commented on the legroom, humorously noting that "at least I don't need chop my legs to the knees to sit in S'pore Air".
With some speculating why Fernandes could not get a flight on AirAsia.
"Is it because your AirAsia flight was cancelled or delayed? I think that's more important than food or service."
New food
Fernandes' post comes days after SIA announced that more than 100 new and refreshed appetisers, main courses, and desserts are being introduced across all cabin classes.
This also comes on the heels of SIA being named the World's Best Airline by SkyTrax.
SIA also won the World's Best Economy Class Onboard Catering.
