S'pore actress Apple Chan undergoes emergency C-section & gives birth to 2nd child

Singaporean actress Apple Chan of "Ah Girls Go Army" fame recently gave birth to her second child via an emergency caesarean section.

The 37-year-old shared in an Instagram post on Sep. 22 that she gave birth prematurely at 32 weeks of pregnancy.

"At 31 weeks, baby girl was only around 1.1kg and wasn’t growing as well as we hoped, so I was admitted for close monitoring. Then that same night, my water bag broke," the actress wrote.

"Our goal was to keep her baking inside me for as long as possible. But everything happened so fast and unexpectedly within days, I had to undergo an emergency C-section. And so, our baby girl is here at 32 weeks," she added.

Chan and her husband, Jensen Goh, also have a two-year-old son.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, Chan shared updates on her daughter's condition on Sep. 30.

She reportedly posted that her daughter still needs to stay in the hospital for observation and care.

Meanwhile, she has been undergoing confinement at a postpartum care centre for the past week.

She has been sharing her postpartum recovery and emotional journey on Instagram Stories, Zaobao reported.

Chan reportedly also revealed that breast milk she had carefully pumped for her daughter had to be discarded after she accidentally mixed milk from different sessions, leaving her feeling guilty and apologetic.

Thankfully, she later succeeded in pumping again, sharing a photo with the baby bottle.

She also opened up about the importance of support from fellow mothers and thanked her family, friends, and netizens for their messages of encouragement, saying she remembered every kind word.
