Fiona Xie, 44, says she retired in her 20s 'to do whatever f***' she wants
"My favourite project is actually not having a job."
Singaporean actress Fiona Xie, 44, recently appeared in a street interview series, "Tokyo Sims".
In another TikTok posted on Jul. 2, the actress was interviewed by the host, Kole Sims.
He asked her: “Do you have any big plans for your career? What’s been your favourite project so far?”
Xie responded: “My favourite project is actually not having a job and being retired.”
Sims asked: “Why would you retire in your 20s?”
To which Xie remarked: “Because, then you get to do whatever f*ck you want”.
The clip appeared to have been filmed at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, rather than in the typical Tokyo Sims setting of Shibuya.
It was one of three videos featuring Xie posted to the channel.

Reactions
Those who reacted to the appearance of Xie speaking on social media said they were shocked to see how she still looked like how they remembered her.
Some noted that she was not really retired.
She left full-time acting in 2009 to step away from Mediacorp and relocate overseas for love at the age of 27.
Her then-fiancé was reportedly an insanely wealthy Australian-American.
Their relationship did not work out.
Her time away from showbiz was not permanent.
Xie made her on-screen return in 2016 for the English drama series "Left Behind".
She also starred in the 2018 Hollywood blockbuster "Crazy Rich Asians".
She reportedly pursued her other interests in fashion, photography, and business while away from the public eye.
