M'sian man, 67, admits on video to raping granddaughter, 13

A 67-year-old Malaysian man was arrested on Jun. 10, 2026 after he admitted on video to raping his 13-year-old granddaughter.

The Star reported that the girl was living with her paternal grandparents in Batu Pahat after her parents had divorced, while her mother lived in a northern state.

The girl initially stayed with the grandparents, after which she moved in with her mother.

The alleged assault was discovered by the girl’s mother when she noticed messages her daughter sent to an acquaintance.

The girl was initially reluctant to speak on the matter, but then revealed to her mother that her grandfather had raped her.

A video on social media showed the 67-year-old man being confronted by family members in his living room.

According to the New Straits Times (NST), the man confesses in the video, saying "Yes I did it," while the mother cried in anguish in the background.

He then told his family members to lodge a police report against him.

The mother made a report on Jun. 8, 2026.

Preliminary investigations found that the alleged abuse occurred throughout 2025, with the final alleged incident occurring in December 2025, NST reported.

Malaysia's Berita Harian reported that the police are investigating and that the man was remanded for six days.
