2 die in motorcycle-truck collision on Tuas 2nd Link bridge
The motorcycle is suspected to have collided with the rear of a tow truck.
A motorcycle was suspected to have collided with the rear of a tow truck on the Tuas Second Link bridge on Friday evening (Jun. 5), leading to two deaths.
Couple killed in motorcycle-truck collision
The two victims, supposedly a couple, were killed in the collision according to Lianhe Zaobao.
Images online showing two people lying motionless on the ground. A Singapore-registered motorcycle was also spotted nearby.
The accident happened around 600m away from the Tuas Checkpoint exit bridge, near the Malaysian border.
Several Malaysian police officers arrived at the scene in response to the accident, according to a video circulating online.
A witness who passed by the scene on a bus after the incident said that he saw a motorcyclist with a broken leg and a white cloth covering his head.
"Paramedics were trying to save another person, but when I arrived at the Malaysian border, I received news that the person who was being treated had already died."
Deceased's family contacted
A Facebook group named Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers circulated the deceased's vehicle registration number on Friday night in attempt to find the motorcyclist's family.
According to Shinmin Daily, the deceased's family has been contacted and said that the two who passed away were husband and wife.
