5 men, aged 19-24, allegedly stole motorcycle in Woodlands for joyride by push starting it, get arrested

The 24-year-old man is also being investigated for riding the motorcycle without a valid driving licence.

The police arrested five men, aged between 19 and 24, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Woodlands Close.

The police were alerted to a case of theft of motorcycle on Jun. 13, 2026 at about 11:20am.

A motorcycle parked at a building along Woodlands Close was reported missing.

Managed to push start motorcycle

Preliminary investigations revealed that on Jun. 10 at about 2:30am, the five men had spotted the unattended motorcycle.

They managed to push start the motorcycle and one of them rode it away for a joyride.

The stolen motorcycle was subsequently recovered.

Arrested within 13 hours

The identities of the five men were established through ground enquiries and with the aid of surveillance images.

They were arrested within 13 hours of the report.

They were slated to be charged in court on Jun. 15 with the offence of theft of motor vehicle with common intention.

The offence carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.

Police investigations are ongoing against the 24-year-old man for an additional offence of riding the motorcycle without a valid driving licence.

The police advised all motor vehicle owners to adopt crime prevention measures.
