A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to provide a breath specimen for analysis after a police pursuit in Tampines.

The incident occurred on Jun. 7 at about 2:05pm when police officers spotted a vehicle of interest while patrolling along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Bedok Reservoir Flyover.

The officers then chased and intercepted the vehicle, signalling the man to stop along Simei Road.

In a TikTok video, police vehicles were seen having intercepted a black van at a bus stop.

Three police officers arrested the driver, who wore what appeared to be a brown shirt and black shorts, while another police officer directed traffic.

Four other police vehicles later arrived at the scene.

The police said the van driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and had refused to provide a breath specimen for analysis.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Police investigations are ongoing.
