At least one person has died and 89 others injured after two passenger trains collided near London on Jun. 19.
According to the BBC, the crash occurred at about 5:15pm (UK time) around Bedford, 80km north of central London.
Both were travelling towards London's St Pancras station.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
One of the train's drivers died at the scene, while eleven people suffered very serious injuries and 22 others sustained serious injuries, first responders told BBC.
British police have declared the collision a major incident.
Like a bomb explosion
One passenger, who said he had been traveling in the front carriage of the train that collided to the one ahead of it, said he "felt like [he'd] been in a bomb explosion".
He described scenes of chairs strewn everywhere, bloodied faces and broken limbs, and smoke all around.
"Some people are spitting out blood," he said.
Another passenger said she saw people fly from their seats upon impact.
In a statement, British prime minister Keir Starmer offered his thoughts to "the family of the person who has sadly lost their life, and with those who have been seriously injured", Reuters reported.
Train services were reportedly cancelled for the rest of the day and are expected to continue facing disruptions on Jun. 20.
