The driver of the car, which overturned in a Woodlands car park, apparently got her driving licence three months ago, Shin Min Daily News reported.

She was sending her children for tuition when the car flipped over, it was also reported.

The car had skidded at the multi-storey car park at Block 622A Woodlands Drive 52 at about 6:50pm on Jun. 2.

The car was on a ramp in front of the exit barrier of the car park.

The walls of the slope leading from the car park’s ground floor to deck 1B were scratched, Shin Min reported.

The car’s windows were shattered, its doors dented, and its hood damaged.

The incident caused many commenters online to question how a car could flip over in such a tight space.

Ferrying two children to tuition

The driver was reportedly ferrying her two primary school-going children to a tuition class when the incident occurred.

The female car driver, 41, told Shin Min that she lost control of the vehicle while trying to exit the parking lot.

The car flipped over after it sped down the slope.

“Fortunately, my children and I are not hurt and we managed to climb out of the car,” she said.

The woman's two children went to tuition by bus, while the woman stayed at the scene.

She said the car was bought by her husband, and she only got her driving license three months ago.

A bright yellow probation plate, or P-plate, was on the top left corner of the car’s front windshield.

Drivers must display P-plates on the front and rear windshields for 12 months after obtaining their licence.

The car blocked the exit for more than three hours.

The car was towed away at around 10pm.

The car park exit remained shut after that, with police directing vehicles to the other entrance.

The police said the woman sustained injuries, but refused conveyance to the hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
