M'sia teen, 17, dies after 1,000kg wooden beam falls on her while she was helping clean temple

A 17-year-old girl in Malaysia died after allegedly being struck by a 1,000kg beam while cleaning a temple.
According to Malaysian media, the teenage girl was helping to clean up the temple as her family was there performing duties.
The girl's mother said she heard a loud sound and saw that a beam had fallen on her daughter, who was lying in a pool of blood.
She said her daughter had no time to react.
"My beloved daughter was gone just like that."
Paramedics rushed to the scene, but it was too late.
The woman told China Press that she didn't know why the wooden beam had broken and collapsed.
Calling it a tragedy, she said it was a cruel reality, the family still found hard to accept.
The temple has offered its condolences and said it will cooperate fully with authorities.
