Man allegedly used axe to chop woman's neck at Sims View private residence, both suspect & victim aged 30

A man, 30, an Indian national, has been arrested for allegedly attacking a woman, also 30, an Indonesian national, with an axe on Feb. 11, the police said in a news release.
Both the suspect and the victim are known to each other.
Romantic relationship gone sour?
Shin Min Daily News reported that the incident, which occurred at about 7am on Wednesday, allegedly stemmed from romantic relations gone sour.
The victim, a foreign domestic worker, was found lying in a pool of blood at her employer's three-storey landed property in Sims View and rushed to the hospital.
The suspect will be charged with attempted murder on Feb. 13.
Allegedly hacked with axe
Li, the sister of the homeowner, revealed that she rushed to her brother's house after learning about the incident.
She said the foreign domestic worker suffered a serious injury to her shoulder and neck and was already on the way to the hospital by the time she arrived.
Li also said she believed the suspect was the victim's ex-boyfriend and a migrant worker.
"We don’t know how he got here," she told Shin Min.
Suspect fled at first
Li added that the suspect fled the scene initially but appeared to have later returned to the location.
He was then arrested.
It was also reported that the suspect fled with the weapon and discarded it along the way.
The weapon was later recovered.
Blood stains on wall
The reporter observed bloodstains on a 3m high wall facing the public.
The blood splatter appeared to have originated from the interior of the private residence.
Shin Min reported that the suspect allegedly entered the premises of the private property.
Argument heard
Neighbours apparently heard an argument breaking out that morning, but did not know the source of the dispute.
A resident said he heard several women calling for help, and the police arrived 10 minutes later.
If convicted of attempted murder resulting in grievous hurt, the suspect could face life imprisonment and caning, or up to 20 years imprisonment, plus a fine or caning, or both.
