Jet Li's youngest daughter reminds him to be fair after gifting eldest daughter S$62,000 car for wedding

Chinese actor Jet Li brought out some sibling rivalry among his daughters after giving his eldest a car worth around 340,000 yuan (S$62,000) as a wedding gift.

On Dec. 25, Li, 62, posted a video on Weibo of a recent promotional event for Huawei's luxury electric car model Maextro S800, which he attended with his youngest daughter Jada.

Speaking on stage, Li shared that his eldest daughter, Li Si, 37, had asked for a Huawei car for her wedding gift.

Jada, 22, responded to his gift by telling him, "Remember, you have four daughters. You must be fair."

"What do I do if four sons-in-law turn up in the future?" Li said jokingly at the event, drawing laughter from the audience.

Li Si's gift

In August, Li announced Li Si's marriage in a Weibo post while revealing that he had ordered a Luxeed R7, a luxury electric SUV developed by Chery and produced in collaboration with Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), the automotive arm of Chinese technology giant Huawei.

According to Chinese media, this model was sold for RMB 240,000 to 340,000 (S$44,000 to S$62,000).

He decided on getting the car for Li Si after she told him she liked it a lot.

"Since it's a gift, what matters most is that my daughter truly likes it," he wrote in his post.

Enjoying his new car with Jada

Li also got a brand new Maextro S800, the car he was promoting at the event, valued between 708,000 and 1 million yuan (S$129,000 to S$183,000).

The luxury electric sedan has become China's best-selling car among those over 700,000 yuan, South China Morning Post reported.

Apart from bringing Jada along to pick it up, Li also took her on a ride in the new car.

In a video of their trip, posted on Dec. 30, the pair linked arms and casually teased each other, reflecting a warm relationship.

Li's daughters

Li had his first two daughters, Li Si and Li Taimi, with his ex-wife, former actress Huang Qiuyan.

After the pair divorced in 1991, Li re-married to Nina Li from Hong Kong, also a former actress, in 1999.

He and Nina have two daughters, Jane and Jada.

Jada, who previously shared about her mental health struggles on Instagram, has depression since she was just seven, Li told a Taiwanese host in 2023.

After he learnt about her condition, Li took some time off work and went on a healing journey together with Jada.
