Tangible impact
Leong served as an NCMP in the 14th Parliament of Singapore from Aug. 24, 2020, to Apr. 15, 2025, when Parliament was dissolved.
He, along with PSP's former first vice-chairperson Hazel Poa, was one of the two NCMPs nominated to the 14th Parliament of Singapore.
"Reflecting on our journey, I am proud that PSP has made a tangible impact on key national issues— from job security and public housing to the cost of living and hawker culture," Leong wrote on his Facebook post.
Leong said that PSP will remain committed to staying relevant both online and on the ground as they engage residents.
Renewal strategy
The PSP Secretary-General added that the party will also focus on its "renewal strategy".
Following the results of the 2025 General Election, Leong told the media that the party would study the results "seriously and humbly" to reconsider how they can "gain further trust from the people".
"We may need to review our strategy and the way we do things. We may need to regroup ourselves so that we can fight another day," Leong said.
"The nation comes first before party"
On his Facebook post, Leong also welcomed the 15th Parliament's two new NCMPs, Workers' Party's Eileen Chong and Andre Low.
"I'm confident they'll bring their unique perspectives and strengths to the table," Leong remarked.
"I also wish to extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister, his Cabinet, the Speaker, all parliamentary colleagues, and the dedicated parliamentary staff, whose tireless work behind the scenes ensures that this House runs smoothly."
