I remember staring at my O-Level results wondering if I had somehow missed the memo on what to do next. Everyone else seemed to know where to go.

If only someone could give me a roadmap to the future.

Fast forward to 2025 – if I were in your shoes, I’d definitely be hitting up the Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) Open House from Jan. 9 to 11.

Why? Given how stressful studying for major exams can be, NYP has designed an open house that allows you to relax, explore your academic options, and get a feel for your future – almost like being on a cruise tour.

Step aboard their “flying ship” – the DreamSky Voyager – you can explore all the opportunities NYP has to offer.

Charting your course

The 3-Track Seminar at NYP’s Open House is one you definitely don’t want to miss, especially if you are lost at how to get started or what to choose.

Happening on Jan. 10 (Friday) at 7:30pm, this is your chance to get tailored advice whether you're an O-Level, N-Level, or ITE student, or the parents.

You’ll walk out of this seminar feeling equipped with all the info you need to nail your applications like a pro!

O-Level Students

Too many choices can be a headache. And ranking them? That’s next-level stress.

I remember the panic I felt when I had to rank my 12 choices for the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE).

I had no clue what I was doing and was scared I’d mess it all up and miss out on what I actually wanted.

If you’re feeling the same, don’t worry—you’re not alone.

Register for the O-Level track here and learn how to pick the right course, avoid three common mistakes during your course selection, and boost your chances of getting into your dream course.

N-Level Students

For N-Level students applying for the Poly Foundation Programme (PFP), ranking your 5 choices for PFP can feel overwhelming.

Get the inside scoop on the admissions process, a breakdown of the curriculum, and hear directly from current PFP students on how our supportive environment helped them transition to Year 1. Register here.

ITE Students

This session for ITE students will cover the various pathways into the polytechnic, including the Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE) and the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE). Our current students will also share how the various opportunities given to them have led to a well-rounded experience here at NYP.

Honestly, if I had access to something like this when I was planning my future, it would have made the whole process much simpler.

Register here.

Rest assured, NYP won’t let you wrap up that Friday with just seminars.

They've also planned a vibrant food bazaar aka the Cloud Nine Cafe, CCA performances, and a grand finale performance to cap off the night on a high note.

Seminars & Talks

If the customised seminars aren’t enough, or if you’re unable to attend on Friday night, you can also meet with students and coaches at the Education & Career Guidance Talk on Jan. 11 at 1pm. They’ll help you identify your interests and guide you on your next steps.

NYP offers over 200 scholarships to help students fund their studies and make the most of their polytechnic experience.

You can learn more about this support at the Student Development & Scholarships Talk on Jan. 11 at 12pm.

Exploring the SkyWorlds

In addition to seminars and talks, you can explore the SkyWorlds at NYP to learn more about the different academic schools.

These SkyWorlds represent the Schools of Applied Science, Business Management, Design & Media, Engineering, Health & Social Sciences, and Information Technology.

Each SkyWorld has lined up exciting activities for visitors, like the latest BeyondReality studio by the School of Design & Media where you can step into the world of movie-making and try out their cool new virtual production setup.

Also, did you know that all students from School of Information Technology (SIT) will graduate with additional industry-recognised certifications alongside their IT diploma? Students can choose from over 20 certifications from leading industry giants.

Or are you curious about the overseas opportunities offered by these schools?

What about the drones and aircrafts that NYP engineering students get to design and build?

Discover the excitement and uncover the truth behind the myths you've heard—straight from the students and staff themselves.

There will be two sessions of school talks and tours happening on Jan. 11 at 10am and 3pm.

You can also find out more about the Open House programmes planned by each school here.
