Man, 40, allegedly shot dead at Johor Bahru restaurant while lunching with friends

A 40-year-old man was allegedly shot and killed at a restaurant in Johor Bahru on Jan. 8 at 12pm.

Four gunshot wounds were found on the victim’s body.

He was reportedly slain at Taman Setia Indah in broad daylight, Malaysia police said.

The victim was eating with his friends at a restaurant when he was shot.

A resident alerted the authorities about the incident.

The police are investigating to identify those involved and determine the exact cause, Malaysia media reported.

What video showed

A video of the alleged slaying can be found on social media.

The grainy surveillance footage purportedly of the incident showed the victim pacing outside the restaurant as he appeared to have been on the phone.

The attacker appeared from a shop and approached the victim from behind with arms straightened and parallel to the ground.

A man in black was then seen falling to the ground at the next moment.

A workshop worker who was at the scene said he heard three consecutive explosive noises and saw a motorcycle fleeing the scene.

He said he thought people were playing with fireworks.

A photo showing a body covered with a white canvas lying in front of a restaurant was also uploaded to social media.

Blood could be seen on the ground.
