Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu caught in Dec. 29 flash floods along Bukit Timah Road
Hsu's car was partially submerged and could not move.
The sudden downpour in the afternoon of Dec. 29 left many commuters, including celebrities, stuck in the rain.
Taiwanese actress and singer Vivian Hsu was caught in a flash flood while out with her friends.
Sharing her experience via an Instagram post on Dec. 30, Hsu said she initially thought the rain was "just like any other normal downpour" and wanted to continue her day as per normal.
However, the "sudden" heavy rain caused roads to flood and soon, the water level rose to her car door, wrote Hsu.

"The cockroaches and lizards climbed onto my car door to seek refuge from the flood."
Her post included a video clip showing half-submerged cars, as well as bins and debris floating in the flood water.

Hsu, who was accompanied by a friend, decided to "save her car" by attempting to drive out in the rain, but the pair soon found themselves stuck in the middle of Bukit Timah Road, unable to proceed or reverse.
To make matters worse, Hsu needed to use the washroom urgently but didn't know how long she would be trapped.
She eventually decided to "make a run" for a mall.

About an hour later, she managed to extricate herself and her car from the flooded road.
