M'sian woman behind on loan payment sets fire to motorcycle rather than let bank take it
This girl('s bike) is on fire.
A Malaysian woman, reportedly 20 months behind on her loan payments for a motor scooter, refused to let the vehicle be repossessed by a bank.
Instead she doused it in fuel and set it alight.
That is a fire bike
WeirdKaya reported that a bank had sent several repossession agents to recover a motor scooter, said to be a Honda RSX, from a woman in the Malaysian town of Taiping.
The woman who had taken the loan was 20 months overdue for her payments.
The agents caught up with her at a roadside hawker stall, where the woman appeared to be working.
Videos of the incident, with at least one being taken by one of the agents, start with the woman arguing fiercely with the agents.
Dah hutang tu bayar lah. tak boleh bayar jangan berhutang. Pasal tu ukur baju bdan sendiri. Masa dia sign agrement tak bace ke. kenderaan tu hak milik sape. pic.twitter.com/qo1XwuABJq

The woman pours the contents of what appeared to be a four-litre plastic jug over the scooter, while the agents appear to be recording the incident, likely to document their attempt to recover it.
The woman storms back into a stall, sliding past a small yellow truck with a sign showing that she operates a Pisang Goreng (fried banana) stall.
The agents continued to document the vehicle, showing its front, side and back, including its license plate number.
But just as one agent attempted to move the vehicle, the woman returned, holding a lit cone of paper, which she tossed into the puddle next to the vehicle.
The puddle and the motorcycle catch fire immediately, consuming the vehicle in flame, showing that the liquid in the jug was a fuel of some kind.
One man attempts unsuccessfully to stop her, moving to block the woman.

Man on fire
His foot is on the puddle when it catches on fire, and he moves away from the fire cautiously, not recognising that his foot is also on fire.
The video ends with the group of agents moving hurriedly away from the burning wreck, with the group yelling indistinctly at each other, with the only word that this author could clearly make out being “bodoh” (stupid).
The story does not have a good end for anyone it seems.
The woman was later arrested by the police, and charged with mischief by fire.
WeirdKaya reports that the woman could face up to 14 years in prison, and commenters on social media appeared to be unsympathetic.
One said that the woman should have negotiated with her bank to prevent repossession, but now that she has burnt the motorcycle, she will still have to repay her debt.
Another suggested that a 20-month lapse in payment implied that the woman never intended to repay.
Yet another referenced an earlier and similar case and while they do not specify which incident, there was a similar case in October 2024.
If I had a dollar for everytime someone trashed their vehicle instead of paying their car loan, I would have two dollars, which isn't much but its weird that it happened twice
World of Buzz previously reported the story of a Malaysian family that was confronted in their home by a set of repossession agents who were attempting to recover a car from them.
But the family, who were eight months behind on their payments, attempted to break every single one of its glass surfaces, rather than allowing them to recover the car.
The video shows the car, with its front bumper missing, seemingly torn off, and a woman smashing the windshield with a rock, while a man smashed a back window with a lug wrench before flipping off the agents, who are recording the whole thing.
Coincidentally, the vehicle was also a Honda.
