M'sia highways to go toll-free on Dec. 23 & 24 this Christmas season
Singaporeans in Malaysia, take note.
Malaysia highways will go toll-free on Dec. 23 and 24, 2024 in conjunction with the Christmas festive season.
The toll-free period will commence at 12:01am on Monday and end at 11:59pm on Tuesday, Malay Mail reported.
However, the toll exemption is only applicable to private vehicles, known as Class 1 vehicles in Malaysia.
Moreover, the toll-free rate will apply to all toll plazas, except for those at the national borders, namely the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Toll and Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza, Johor.
Authorities there said the initiative is in conjunction with the 2024 Christmas celebration.
The Malaysia government will bear the estimated RM38 million (S$11.4 million) cost, it was also reported.
Highway users are also advised to take advantage of this toll waiver to better plan their journeys.
