50 mini plush toy-sized delivery rider uniforms sold out in 8 mins, Grab S'pore restocking
The three-piece set, which includes a jacket, pants, and a GrabFood delivery bag, was sold for S$29.90 each.
Did you manage to get your hands on the mini plush toy-sized delivery outfit set launched by Grab Singapore on Dec. 16?
If not, do not beat yourself up, as the 50 sets released on GrabFood Gear were sold out within 8 minutes on Monday, according to a Grab spokesperson.
GrabFood Gear is a platform where Grab's delivery-partners can purchase items, such as their delivery uniforms.
Earlier this month, Grab announced that it would be launching the three-piece set, which included a jacket, pants, and a GrabFood delivery bag, for S$29.90 each.
According to the company, the initiative was inspired by delivery riders who often bring their mini toys and plushies on their bikes.
It hopes that the mini outfits will help "add a playful touch" and "celebrate the community in a creative and fun way", said Grab.
Prospective buyers willing to pay more
Following the item selling out, some prospective buyers turned to online marketplaces in hopes of securing one.
Checks by Mothership on Dec. 21 afternoon showed that at least five such buyers had expressed their interests on Carousell, including one offering S$50 for the set.
A Xiaohongshu user also indicated her interest in buying a set for S$80, more than twice the original price, from another user.
Restock coming soon
However, for buyers who are willing to wait a bit longer, they may not even need to pay more to get their hands on the outfit set.
This is so as Grab is planning to restock another 50 sets once the membership of the Grab Warriors Facebook group reaches 5,000.
The group, which is an official page run by Grab where its delivery partners can seek support and check out the benefits offered, has around 4,700 members as of Dec. 21.
