Giant Tampines Hypermarket has hopped onto the Labubu bandwagon.

The supermarket chain in Singapore announced on Oct. 20 that customers can stand a chance to win the famous small monster toy in-store.

Prizes can be won from the claw machines located on the first floor of Giant Tampines Hypermarket, including Labubu.

What is the craze around Labubu?

A small monster based on Nordic fairytales, Labubu was part of the 2015 "The Monsters" story series by creator Kasing Lung.

Lung entered an exclusive license agreement with Chinese toy company Pop Mart.

Prices for the toy ranged from S$13.90 to S$1,199.

The ones most commonly seen are apparently Labubu plush pendants, which come from two series of blind boxes.

The popularity of the little monster toy skyrocketed this year in Southeast Asia after the famous K-pop girl group Blackpink's Lisa was spotted carrying one.

Singaporean politicians have also relied on the toy, with a PAP-themed Labubu doll spotted at a Sep. 22 grocery distribution drive by the People's Action Party (PAP) Sengkang team.

A girl was caught on CCTV camera allegedly stealing a soon-to-be-discontinued Labubu doll at a Plaza Singapura shop on Oct. 16.

Footage showed a girl in a black and white t-shirt and jeans walking into the store and taking a box from the shelf before leaving.
