NSF based in Pasir Laba Camp dies after being found unconscious next to bed
Investigations are ongoing.
A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Full-time National Serviceman (NSF) was pronounced dead at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital after being found "unconscious and unresponsive" next to a bed on the evening of Sep. 27, 2024.
The NSF was based in Pasir Laba Camp, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Singapore Police Force (SPF), past midnight on Sep. 27.
After being found unconscious, he was sent to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital by the SAF Ambulance Service.
Despite resuscitation efforts en route, the serviceman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
The case was classified as an unnatural death, and investigations are ongoing. MINDEF also said that the death was not training related.
"The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend our deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman, and are assisting the family in their time of grief," MINDEF and SPF said.
