Car catches fire along CTE, no injuries reported

A car burst into flames along the Central Expressway (CTE) in the evening on Feb. 23.
A video uploaded to Xiaohongshu showed a black car in the second lane engulfed in flames.

There were numerous police officers and an ambulance on the scene.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a fire along the CTE towards the Seletar Expressway after the Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 exit at about 7:40pm.
The fire was extinguished using a water jet, and no injuries were reported.
In a tweet on X at 7:44pm on Feb. 23, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) posted about an accident on the CTE before the Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 exit, and said to avoid the second lane.
LTA also posted another update at 11:45pm about an accident at the same location, with congestion till the Braddell Road exit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, said SCDF.
