WHAT is this role about?

As our Social Media Lead (Instagram), you will work as part of our Editorial team and be at the forefront of driving content strategy and execution for Mothership’s Instagram account. As our voice for young audiences, you will lead the review of our current Instagram offerings and processes, with a view to transform and future-proof them.

A snippet of what you can expect to be doing on a day-to-day basis:

  • Keeping a pulse on social media and youth trends, in order to develop and implement a distinct and clear product proposition for Mothership’s Instagram account
  • Creating high-impact, cross-format content that grows, engages, and retains users, and makes a positive difference to their lives
  • Analysing data to derive useful insights that address audience, brand, and commercial needs and goals
  • Providing close guidance to your team of Social Media Specialists, improving creativity, quality, and standards
  • Working with our Commercial team to explore new and interesting business opportunities

WHO should consider?

We are looking for someone with a strong track record in executing high-impact social media content. Management and leadership experience is a bonus.

If you are someone who:

  • Believes in the power and impact of social media
  • Is deeply familiar with the Instagram platform and its features (e.g. Stories, Reels)
  • Has an eye for short-form content that captivates, delights, and serves young audiences
  • Takes initiative and can work independently, but is also a team player with an outsized impact on team culture and performance
  • Is proficient in visual design, as well as in the use of video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, and InShot
  • Has a good sense of multimedia storytelling and rhythm
