WHAT is this role about?

If bad content makes you tik, you live for the gram for reels, and don’t mind working in shorts (and when you read that, you didn’t immediately think about what you’re wearing below waist-level), let’s tok.

Short form video content is an emerging ubiquitous format that is defining today’s generation and Mothership wants to be part of the conversation. 

As a TikTok & Instagram video creator, you will work with a team of fellow content creators, using the video medium to help entertain, engage and inform our audiences on emerging platforms like TikTok, Reels, and YouTube shorts.

A snippet of what you can expect to be doing on a day-to-day basis:

  • Actively thinking of creative ways to convert news into short form video content
  • Pitching video content ideas 
  • Executing videos in a timely manner
  • Sharing social media trends with teammates
  • Independently managing project timelines

WHO should consider?

Whether you’re Gen Z, Millennial,  or an overqualified boomer, we want you as long as you know what makes short-form content work well on the various social media platforms.  The ideal candidate should have an instinctive pulse on what’s trending and appreciate the quick and evolving nature of short form videos in today’s day and age.

Technical requirements:

  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, or video editing apps like CapCut and InShot
  • Good sense of multimedia storytelling and rhythm
  • Firm understanding of existing and emerging social media platforms
  • A bonus if you are able to operate video cameras and DSLRs 

Crucially, you must possess the mental stamina, tenacity, and agility to work in an intensely dynamic, fast-paced, and competitive media environment.
