WHAT is this role about?
As a Copy Editor, you will work as part of Mothership’s editorial team, guiding and coaching our writers and content creators in ensuring and improving the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of our editorial work.
A snippet of what you can expect to be doing on a day-to-day basis:
- Participating in day-to-day news gathering, reporting, and story development, to produce high impact and effective content, presented in a creative and digital-friendly manner
- Sourcing helpful supplemental elements while achieving accuracy, brevity, and clarity
- Fact-checking, editing copy for spelling, grammar, and style, and coordinating publishing schedules
- Coaching and mentoring writers and content creators
- Working with fellow editorial leaders to develop and implement culture, systems, and processes that facilitate accurate and error-free reporting and content creation
WHO should consider?
We are looking for someone with minimally three years of operational experience in digital copy editing, and with experience in managing teams and projects.
