A Malaysia Airlines business class passenger on a flight from Chiang Mai, Thailand, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was treated to an unusually generous spread on his three-hour long flight.

Filled with Malaysian hospitality

In a Facebook post on Sep. 16, the passenger recounted his experience, saying that he did not expect anything lavish, but ended up being so well-fed that his stomach "almost burst".

He credited an enthusiastic flight attendant who filled him up with "Malaysian hospitality."

Was served six meals in total

The passenger stated that the flight took off at about 12:30pm.

He had already eaten breakfast before the flight and was thus planning to order just one dish: butterfly pea rice with curry chicken.

After the first meal was served, he said that the flight attendant went around asking passengers if the food was enough and if anyone wanted more food, but everyone declined.

When it was his turn, the passenger, who described himself as someone who would usually eat two meals when he sat in economy class, told the flight attendant that he did not mind trying more food, though he might not be able to finish the meals.

The passenger claimed that this seemed to delight the flight attendant, who soon returned with a nyonya assam fish meal, followed by sambal shrimp nasi lemak, chicken wonton noodles, an Indian cuisine option, and baked eggs with hollandaise sauce.

Only later did the passenger realise that some of the dishes were not on the scheduled in-flight menu.

Instead, they had been prepared for the airline's earlier flight from Kuala Lumpur to Chiang Mai.

He added that he had opted for the "Chef on Call" option during this flight, which allows passengers to pre-order their in-flight meals, and hence had not expected to be able to sample so many different dishes in one sitting.

On top of the in-flight meal, the passenger revealed that everyone received two cakes, each along with honey lemon tea and milk tea.

He further added when the first meal was served, the flight attendant had given everyone two pieces of bread.

The passenger, who enjoyed the bread but could not finish it, casually asked if he could pack the bread home.

To his surprise, the flight attendant later handed him a bag filled with 10 pieces of piping hot bread.
