Woman, 39, found face down in pond in Thailand, her note for son, 15, said she couldn't repay debt & felt overwhelmed

A 39-year-old woman was found dead in a pond in Thailand and discovered to have left behind a heartbreaking note apologising to her 15-year-old son, saying she was too tired to go paying off her debts and she saw no way out.

Police and rescue workers in Si Maha Phot district of Prachin Buri were alerted to a body floating face down in a pond near an industrial estate on Jun. 18, Bangkok Post reported.

The victim was found in a black shirt, jeans and a full-face helmet.

Her motorcycle and sandals were left at the water’s edge.

Authorities estimated she had been dead for a day and there were no signs of foul play.

Note found

Among her belongings was a handwritten note addressed to her only son.

In it, she apologised for being unable to go on due to the burden of her debt and not having a single baht to give him for school.

According to the Bangkok Post, the letter mentioned "her love and sorrow", saying she was exhausted and unable to pay off what she owed, despite her efforts.

People who knew her said she kept to herself, and worked evenings at a local factory to support herself and her son.

A construction worker saw the body in the morning.

Her motorcycle had been seen at the water's edge since Wednesday morning.
