3-month-old Muhammad Nur Daniel Nuruleffendy was pinned under the arm of his father, 35-year-old Nuruleffendy Ibrahim, who had died in his sleep after having a heart attack.

The incident took place in Kampung Perigi Hang Tuah, Melaka, on Jun. 19.

What Happened

According to Free Malaysia Today, Azura Abdul Malik, 37, found her husband, Nuruleffendy, unconscious at their home in Kampung Perigi Hang Tuah, Melaka, at around 9.30am.

Daniel was still alive, and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but died there.

A later report by Bernama cited the police as saying the baby died from lung injuries.

According to The Star, the lung injuries are suspected to have been caused by the pressure of his father's arm, which made it difficult for the baby to breathe.

Doctors also found two closed heart valves and a blockage in Nuruleffendy's heart, ruling his death as the result of an ischemic heart disease.

Azura alerted her husband's sister, who was staying opposite them

According to the New Straits Times, Nuruleffendy's sister, Masturadiana Ibrahim, said Azura had left the house earlier in the morning to send her other two children, aged 16 and 15, to school. She then clocked into work briefly before driving home to pick Daniel up for his immunisation appointment.

As nobody had answered the door, Azura had climbed through the window at the back of her house to get inside.

Upon discovering what had happened, Azura and Masturadiana immediately rushed Daniel to the hospital.

Masturadiana had told Azura to "take the baby to the hospital and asked the others to call the ambulance to check on [her] brother".

Upon returning home after sending Daniel to the hospital, paramedics informed Masturadiana that her brother had been dead for about two to three hours before he was found.

The death of her brother came as a shock to Masturadiana as he had no known illnesses.

He did, however, complain of chest pain the day before, but did not have it checked out.
