RGS student, 16, resuscitates tourist suffering cardiac arrest at Novena, gets thank you letter
She also accompanied the man to the hospital as she was worried that he and his wife could not converse in English.

A 16-year-old student from Raffles Girls' School (RGS) was on her way to the MRT station on Mar. 10 afternoon when she noticed a man suffering from cardiac arrest at Velocity @ Novena Square.
In response, the student, Alva Wong, immediately approached the man and asked his wife next to him whether he had any past medical history, according to Singapore Red Cross.
Wong then proceeded to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the man and asked a member of the public to fetch the automated external defibrillator (AED).
At the same time, she also asked another member of public to alert the authorities.
Accompanied man & wife to hospital
After Wong conducted CPR on the man for around eight minutes, paramedics arrived at the scene and transferred the man to an ambulance.
As Wong was concerned that the man and his wife, who were both tourists from China, could not converse in English, she decided to follow them to the hospital.
Wong only left after the man began undergoing surgery.
Following the surgery, the man and his wife returned safely to China.
To express his gratitude, the man wrote a heartfelt letter of commendation to Wong, praising her courage and compassion.
Singapore Red Cross also published a series of Instagram stories on Apr. 15 to hail Wong's life-saving actions.
