Youths throw Anywheel bike around in the rain at Sengkang playground
Can we agree to stop messing with shared bikes in 2025?
A group of youths were seen playing with and throwing around an Anywheel bicycle in the rain at a playground in Sengkang.
The incident took place on Jan. 12 at about 6:30pm, said a Mothership reader who witnessed the incident.
In a series of videos shared by the reader, one boy — who was shirtless and appeared to be a teen — could be seen lifting the green bike high over his head.
He then flung it hard onto the ground.
The same boy was also observed lifting the bicycle again.
This time, he propped it on top of a playground structure.
He gestured to a smaller boy to help him with his endeavour.
The smaller boy — who had previously been kicking around a ball with his friends — acquiesced.
Together with some of the other youths and the first boy, they pushed it to the edge of the structure.
They then let go, allowing the bike to roll to the opposite edge and fall off the structure.
The Mothership reader said the group had been "really loud" while playing in the rain.
When she went to investigate the cause of the commotion, she noticed them throwing the bike around.
The playground in question was located at Compassvale, opposite Sengkang Secondary School, she added.
