S'porean actress Victoria Chen to play Mei in West End's 'My Neighbor Totoro'
Cue the Totoro song.

Singaporean actress Victoria Chen will be in the West End production of "My Neighbor Totoro".
She is set to play the main character Mei, the young girl who encounters Totoro.
The play will run at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London from Mar. 8 to Nov. 2, 2025.
The actress jokingly announced her Royal Shakespeare Company debut in an Instagram post from Jan. 29, saying: "In case my mother hasn’t told you yet, her daughter finally got a job. HUAT AH!"
In a promotional reel, Chen said:
“It’s an absolute dream come true. To be working alongside people like this and bringing the story to life every single day, or twice a day.”
Who is Victoria Chen?
Chen is an alumnus of the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA).
The young actress has worked in Singapore, China, the United Kingdom, Australia and Iceland for theatre.
About the play

The show is a stage adaptation of the Studio Ghibli film "My Neighbour Totoro".
It follows two siblings, Satsuki and Mei, who navigate life after moving to the countryside.
