A 49-year-old Singaporean man passed away after his motorcycle collided with a car along the Second Link in Malaysia on Jan. 12 afternoon.

According to New Straits Times, the motorcyclist was riding a superbike when he reportedly rear-ended the car at around 4:30pm.

As a result of the impact, the car driver lost control of the vehicle, and it crashed into another car in the right lane of the highway, the Malaysia police said, according to NST.

The motorcyclist landed on the highway shoulder, sustaining "severe neck injuries".

An ambulance subsequently conveyed him to Sultanah Aminah Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Aftermath of the incident

A video allegedly showing the aftermath of the fatal collision was uploaded to Facebook.

In the video, the highway appeared to be wet, presumably due to the rain that reportedly fell over Johor that day.

A motorcycle, believed to be owned by the deceased, could be seen parked in the middle of the highway, tilted to one side.

On the rightmost lane of the highway stationed a grey car with a damaged bumper.

Another grey car could be seen stationed diagonally along the leftmost lane of the highway, facing the railing.

The deceased's body has been brought back to his residence in Singapore.

An appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage of the incident has been put out.

Deceased 'a kind soul': family member

On Jan. 13, a woman, who identified herself as a cousin of the deceased, took to Facebook to pay tribute to to the deceased man.

According to the cousin, the man "left the world doing what he loved most", which was riding.

She shared that his passing was a "heartbreaking moment" for her family, as they had lost five members within seven months.

"[He was] a kind soul who will always be loved and remembered by those who know him," wrote the cousin.

She recounted that the deceased used to work in public service, and his chats were often filled with "huge enthusiasm for his duties".

The cousin also expressed her gratitude for the individuals who rendered help after the fatal collision.
