A massive rainbow appeared over Bishan on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 14, after Singapore got hammered by four days of near-continuous monsoon rain.
Photos of the rainbow was shared in the CloudSpotting & SkySpotting Singapore Facebook group.
The rainbow was photographed at around 8:40am.
The iconic Bishan public housing blocks and Sin Ming private estate are visible in the background of the photos of the rainbow.
Monsoon rain dump
Although the full data is not in yet, on just the first two days of monsoon rain on Jan. 10 and 11, a total of 255.2mm of rainfall was recorded in Singapore.
This was more than the average monthly rainfall of 222.4mm in January.
Heavy persistent rain continued to fall on Jan. 12 and 13.
Even though the skies have cleared up over Singapore with glimpses of some sunshine, rain is expected in the afternoons over the next four days.
Temperatures are relatively lower than usual, hovering between 25.8°C and 28.8°C at around noon on Tuesday.
