Python seen on moving car in KL, M'sia, but driver keeps driving
Hope the snake found its way home.
Hitchhikers in Malaysia are uncommon — let alone a hitchhiker in the form of a snake.
A python was recently spotted hitching a ride on the exterior of a car in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In videos shared by Threads user @tigrechef on Jan. 5, the snake could be seen slithering on top of a moving silver Perodua Axia along KL Middle Ring Road 2 headed towards Ampang.
The driver continued driving seemingly unaware or unperturbed by the snake's presence.
Driver seemingly did not know what to do
In the first clip shared by the user, the python was seen sliding down the left passenger door.
It briefly hovered its head over the road before slithering back up onto the windscreen.
The user wrote: "Try guessing. Does the snake belong to the Axia owner or is it a wild snake that fell onto the car?"
Another clip showed the python moving down the right side of the hood as the car continued moving along the road.
The driver recording the scene eventually rolled down the window to alert the Axia driver of the snake.
The man, who seemingly did not know what to do, merely pointed to the snake and shrugged in response as he continued driving.
In a third clip shared by the user, the python was also seen extending its head and part of its body to the back of the car, apparently in an attempt to get off the vehicle.
It also slithered over the roof of the car, almost coming into contact with a passing motorcyclist.
"Uncle still did not know what to do and the cute python tried to jump on the roadside bush," the user noted.
It is unclear if the python was safely removed or rescued later.
Netizens react
The incident stirred mixed reactions among commenters.
Some noted that the driver could have "at least stopped at the side" to allow the snake to get off the car, instead of continuing the drive.
One commenter added that they would immediately drive to the fire station, and then honk repeatedly upon arrival in order to alert the officers of the snake.
One other commenter joked that the snake actually owned the car, and that its "vehicle had been stolen".
