Resident households with a monthly household income per person of not more than S$1,800 can apply for public transport vouchers (PTVs) worth S$60 from Jan. 14, 2025.

These PTVs are part of the 2024 PTV Exercise, which aims to help eligible households cope with the six per cent hike in public transport fares.

According to a joint press release issued by the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and People's Association (PA), the 2024 PTV Exercise is being carried out in two stages.

During the second and upcoming stage, which will run from Jan. 14 to Oct. 31, 2025, eligible households can apply for their vouchers online or in person at their local Community Centres/Clubs (CC).

Within this period, households that require additional help, including those who did not qualify based on the household income eligibility criterion, can submit an appeal online or in person at their local CCs.

Vouchers for the 2024 PTV Exercise are valid until Mar. 31, 2026.

Received PTV notification letter?

For households who have received a PTV notification letter, they can follow the instructions to redeem their vouchers via the SimplyGo app, said MOT and PA.

Alternatively, they can also do so by visiting any SimplyGo kiosks, top-up kiosks, assisted service kiosks, SimplyGo ticket offices, or SimplyGo ticketing service centres.

Differed from previous PTV exercises

According to MOT and PA, the first stage of the 2024 PTV Exercise was completed in December 2024.

Around 270,000 households who received a voucher during the 2023 PTV Exercise and continue to meet the income eligibility criterion had received physical and/or digital PTV notification letters.

The PTVs issued under the 2024 PTV Exercise are also worth more than those issued under the previous PTV Exercise, which was S$50.

Moreover, an additional 60,000 households are expected to benefit from the increase in income eligibility criterion from S$1,600 in the 2023 PTV Exercise to S$1,800 in the 2024 PTV Exercise.
