McDonald's S'pore does My Melody mahjong set for CNY

McDonald's Singapore has teased a new promotional item just in time for Chinese New Year.

The pastel-toned My Melody mahjong set could be yours for a cool 3,888 MyMcDonald's Rewards points — and S$228 on top of that.

It'll be available on the McDonald's app from Jan. 13, 3pm.

The numbered tiles feature little My Melody illustrations, while the classic animals appear here in cutesy cartoon form.

How to redeem

Step 1: Exchange points

To redeem the set, you'll need to login to your McDonald's app and tap on the "Redeem McDonald's My Melody Mahjong Set" tile from Jan. 13, 3pm.

You will then be entered into a virtual waiting room to queue for the redemption page.

Once in the redemption page, you'll be able to access the set for 3,888 MyMcDonald's Rewards points.

From Jan. 13, 3pm to Jan. 17, 5pm, you can book a timeslot to purchase the set.

Timeslots are available between Jan. 20 and Jan. 23, from 3pm to 9pm.

Step 2: Make payment

Once you have your timeslot, you can head down to McDonald's Suntec City to purchase and collect the mahjong set.

Present your McDonald's app with the deal voucher — no screenshots or photographs accepted — and redeem the deal at the dedicated kiosk.

Each set costs S$228.

Afterwards, you'll just need to present your receipt to collect your shiny new set at the collection counter.

Do take note that queues will close every evening at 8:30pm.
