Man in US orders drill from AliExpress, receives printed photo of it instead
He also received one silver screw.

A man in Georgia, U.S. was in for a rude shock after his online order from AliExpress was not fulfilled.
Instead of a drill, he received a printed photo of the drill.
According to U.S. news broadcaster WTOC, Savannah-based Sylvester Franklin had spent US$22.47 (S$30) on a drill in November 2024 and has not received a refund for the issue.
Sent picture of drill, did not get refund
Franklin told WTOC that he was in the market for new tools, and had logged into online retail service AliExpress to buy a drill.
When his order arrived, he found a picture of the drill in the package instead.
He also received one silver screw.
Despite reporting the incident to the company since his purchase in November 2024, Franklin has not received his money back.
He also unsuccessfully attempted to get a chargeback from his bank.
Franklin said: "This is not good. This is real bad. All this is bad, you know what I mean? Don't scam nobody."
Complaints lodged in Georgia against AliExpress
According to WTOC, AliExpress was added to the list of Notorious Markets for Counterfeiting and Piracy under the Office of the United States Trade Representative in 2021.
Three complaints have been made against AliExpress so far in Georgia in 2024.
Consumers who lodged the complaints reported not receiving the items they ordered, with reports of items being sent out with fake tracking numbers.
All three cases only received their refunds after reporting the incidents to the authorities.
