On Jan. 7, 2025, videos of Taiwanese pop star Cyndi Wang performing in Singapore began circulating online.
While many might have assumed it was part of a concert, it turned out to be a surprise performance at a local company's year-end party.
Wang, who made her debut in 2003 with the album "Begin...", sang three songs during the event, including her popular hits "I Will Be Fine", "When You," and "Honey".
Her performance featured backup dancers as well.
During her performance, Wang expressed her excitement to be back in Singapore, sharing that the company's boss had requested her visit remain a secret.
She revealed on stage that "no one knows I am in Singapore".
Last Singapore concert in 2024
Wang's last concert in Singapore took place 20 years ago at the J-Stars 2004 Live Concert, held at Singapore Expo on Dec. 11, 2004.
She made a brief return in May 2019 for the Global Chinese Golden Chart (GCGC) Awards showcase at the Capitol Theatre.
At the event, she was honoured as the Best Female Artist (Hong Kong and Taiwan), while her album "CyndiLoves2Sing" was named Recommended Album of the Year.
Additionally, her song "Cafe Of Lost Youth" was ranked among the top 20 tracks of 2018.
