What video showed

In the video, the cyclist, who was wearing a yellow helmet and blue top, could be seen waving his left arm at the bus captain.

He then proceeded to step onto the pavement, leaving his bicycle on the road in front of the bus.

At the time, the bus was parked at a bus stop, and both its front and back doors were closed.

A Grab food delivery bag could be seen on the back of the man's bike.

Bus captain did not open door

The man walked over to the bus' front door and put his hands on his waist, apparently waiting for the doors to open.

It appears that the bus captain did not open the door.

At the same time, an individual could be seen standing inside the bus at its front door.

While the stand-off went on, another bus could be seen waiting behind the double-decker bus.

At least two other onlookers, including a schoolboy, also witnessed the scene.

SBS Transit alerted police

In response to Mothership's queries, SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said that the bus involved in the incident was a service 87 bus.

According to Wu, passengers had finished boarding and alighting the bus when the cyclist approached its bus captain.

"As our bus could not move off from the bus stop safely, our operations control centre contacted the police," read the statement.

The police responded and resolved the situation eventually, shared Wu.

Mixed reactions from commenters

In the comments section of the TikTok video, many criticised the cyclist's behaviour, accusing him of being "entitled" and creating a "public nuisance".

Noting that the cyclist was not the first to park his bike in front of a bus, some commenters also urged the authorities to take stronger actions against such individuals.

At the same time, other TikTokers also highlighted that sometimes, it was the bus drivers' "bad behaviour" on the roads that caused such incidents.
