Are you in the mood for Chinese New Year?
One car in Singapore certainly is.
The vehicle was spotted looking especially “huat” with bright and festive Chinese New Year decorations.
The decorations included faux flowers sprouting from the windshield, decorative snakes and lions, and Chinese characters symbolising prosperity and good fortune.
Dressed in CNY decorations
TikTok user kl.san88 shared a photo of the elaborately decorated car on Jan. 3, dubbing it the “huat car”.
Another TikTok user, 7ye8ye, also posted a video of the same car parked in an open-air car park at the Beach Road area.

Photos of the car were also posted in the Roads.sg Facebook group.
The car had the blue private hire vehicle decals attached to its front and rear windscreens.
Many noticed the car
Comments under the videos revealed that many have seen the car in various locations across Singapore, including on expressways.
Some commenters noted that the same car had been similarly decorated during the Christmas season, with festive Christmas-themed ornaments instead.
Mixed reactions
Public reaction to the car was mixed.
Some admired the owner’s festive spirit, with one commenter calling the display “steady” and another praising the effort to “spread peace, good fortune, [and] luck everywhere”.
On the other hand, others raised concerns about the safety of the decorations, questioning whether they could pose a hazard to other road users if they fell off.
Some speculated that the driver might attract the attention of traffic police due to the elaborate embellishments.
One pointed out that the decorations could be "gone" once it starts raining.
