Four Singaporeans, aged 25 to 27, were arrested during a raid which also seized more than S$1 million worth of drugs.

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) raid, which yielded 11.7kg of cannabis, was conducted on Jan. 4.

"The seized drugs could potentially feed the addiction of 4,590 drug abusers for a week," said CNB in a statement on Jan. 6.

3 men and a woman arrested

Two men, aged 25 and 27, were arrested at a car park near Cassia Crescent.

1,855g of heroin, 1,032g of ‘Ice, 98g of ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, and 300 Erimin-5 tablets were found on the 27-year-old, while 136g of ‘Ice’ and 21g of cannabis were found on the 25-year-old.

CNB officers also found around 11.78kg of cannabis, 1,632g of heroin, 923g of ‘Ice’, 877g of ketamine, 234g of ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, and 1,200 Erimin-5 tablets from a car which they were arrested next to.

Witnessing the arrests of the two men, another 25-year-old man attempted to flee the scene but was arrested following a short pursuit.

"An offensive weapon was seized from him and handed over to the police," said CNB.

Around 73g of ‘Ice’, 21g of heroin, 20 Erimin-5 tablets, and a small amount of ‘Ecstasy’ tablets were recovered by CNB officers from the 27-year-old suspect’s residential unit nearby.

A 25-year-old woman, who is a suspected drug abuser, was also arrested within the unit.

Investigations are ongoing

Investigations into the drug activities of the arrested suspects are ongoing.

It is an offence for a person to traffic in or offer to traffic in a controlled drug.

This is regardless of whether it is done on their behalf or the behalf of another person, and whether or not that other person is in Singapore.

If found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of diamorphine or “pure heroin”, more than 250g of methamphetamine, or more than 500g of cannabis, they may face the mandatory death penalty.
