37,000 allied health professionals, pharmacists, and administrative, ancillary and support staff will have their monthly salaries increased by the middle of 2025.

In a Jan. 29 press release, the Ministry of Health (MOH) stated that the salary increase would help the public healthcare sector better attract and retain staff.

The last time the salaries of this group were increased was in 2021.

In addition, 26,000 public healthcare nurses will benefit from adjustments to their salaries to keep pace with market trends.

MOH explained that adjustments would be smaller, as the scheme would build on the Award for Nurses' Grace, Excellence, and Loyalty scheme introduced in 2024 to attract and encourage nurses to build lifelong careers.

Health Minister Ong Ye Kung announced the salary increases during a visit to Singapore General Hospital and Outram Community Hospital on Jan. 29.

"I am very thankful to all our healthcare workers for working round the clock – 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, including all festivities. Thank you very much for your dedication and commitment," he said.

MOH stated that it regularly reviews staff salaries in the public healthcare sector to ensure that it continues to offer strong career opportunities, and it will continue to review its manpower development initiatives to strengthen the healthcare workforce.

In 2022, more than 25,000 nurses in Singapore received a special payment of between 1.7 and 2.1 months of their base salary to attract and retain nursing talent.
