3 Indonesian teens arrested for allegedly sexually harassing S'porean tourist in Bandung
Two of the suspects are minors and are under 17 years old.
The Indonesian police have arrested three teenagers on Friday (Jan. 3) after the youths allegedly sexually harassed a Singaporean female tourist on Braga Street in Bandung.
Two of the suspects are minors and under the age of 17, according to Indonesian media Jakarta Globe.
Touched the victim inappropriately
The incident allegedly took place on Dec. 29, 2024.
The teenagers were making their way to a football match when they encountered the Singaporean tourist, who was recording a vlog with her husband.
One of the teenagers reportedly confessed to making indecorous gestures and touching the victim inappropriately.
The other two teenagers denied involvement.
In communication with the victim
The acts were captured in a video, which has been watched more than 786,000 times in four days.
Bandung Metropolitan Police Chief Budi Satrono said on Saturday (Jan. 4) that they are in communication with the victim.
The woman is reportedly responding positively and expressed full trust in the Bandung Police to handle the case, it was reported.
"We apologise for the incident"
The three teenagers have since made a public apology.
"We apologise for the incident and for [our] inappropriate behaviour. We are sincerely sorry to the tourist [in the incident] and to the Bandung citizens."
