In a press conference on Dec. 4, 2024, Chinese actor Zhang Linghe recalled his visit to our sunny island during his childhood.

The actor, turning 27 years old this year, is in town with Chinese online entertainment provider iQIYI to promote his upcoming drama, "The Best Thing", at the Asia TV Forum and Market.

The event took place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

Wishes to have bak kut teh again

When asked what his impression of Singapore was thus far, Zhang smiled and said it wasn't his first trip here.

He had been here once with his family as a child, and most vividly recalls his visit to Botanic Gardens.

"I took a picture there, but I'm not sure where that photo has gone," the actor laughed while reminiscing.

On this trip, Zhang wants to prioritise trying the local fare.

"The memories from my childhood trip here have faded, so I'd like to go try bak kut teh again and see if it still tastes the way I remember it to."
